Leadership and Capacity-Building Programme for Grassroots Women Leaders
In partnership with Mariwala Health Initiative (MHI)
WAYVE Foundation’s flagship programme is a year-long leadership and capacity-building initiative for young grassroots women activists from marginalised communities across India. The programme primarily brings together women from marginalised communities, who are working to advance equality, dignity, gender justice and community development.
The programme combines online learning sessions with in-person residential workshops. Participants build their knowledge and skills in leadership, communication, constitutional rights, women-specific laws, gender justice, research, mental health and emotional well-being, documentation, facilitation and community engagement.
An important feature of the programme is its emphasis on creating safe and supportive spaces for reflection, healing, peer learning and solidarity. Women leaders from different states, communities and social identities learn from one another, share their experiences and build lasting networks of mutual support.
Through this flagship programme, WAYVE supports emerging grassroots women leaders to strengthen their confidence, deepen their understanding of social issues and contribute more effectively to their organisations and communities.
