Between 18–20 December 2025, the WAYVE Foundation conducted an Advanced Training Workshop in Kolkata—three days of deep listening, learning, and collective strength-building with marginalized women leaders. The workshop opened with a powerful legal session by Adv. Satish Kumar, who unpacked crucial provisions of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita and other women-centric laws, grounding participants in how to recognize, track, and respond to cases of violence and atrocity. The second day turned inward, as Tanuja Babre guided participants through the psychosocial realities of violence—how trauma manifests in the mind and body, and how survivors’ mental health needs can be identified and supported with care and dignity. The final day, led by Don Hasar, expanded the conversation to sexuality and sexual diversity, including LGBTQIA+ identities, while engaging with the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019. More than a training, the workshop became a shared space of courage, clarity, and connection—equipping participants to return to their communities informed, compassionate, and ready to lead change.
